This course is great for groups of friends or like-minded people to get together for a couple of days of fun sailing lessons on the protected waters of Cockburn Sound.
Small group sizes ensure participants benefit from maximum hands on time to learn each task.
This is a basic course to introduce sailing to people who believe they might have an interest with no pressure. There are no exams. Candidates can enjoy a couple of days on the water with a qualified instructor giving them basic knowledge to make them feel more capable and confident if out sailing with friends or family.
On completion you will have the confidence to step onto another yacht and how what all the parts are for! This is our most popular introduction course and a great stepping stone to commence to the more complex courses or to obtain a crewing position on another yacht.
The course covers personal and boat safety equipment, sailing terms, equipment and handling skills, very basic ropework, man-overboard, anchors, very basic buoyage and colregs.
